The Arkansas Flower and Garden Show is a non-profit event with the mission of educating the public about gardening, landscaping, and horticultural practices as well as promoting horticulture in Arkansas. This mission is important because many credible studies have shown that planting trees and shrubs in communities improves air and water quality, improves the health of residents, and stimulates economic development by increasing property values and making communities more appealing to new businesses. The Arkansas Flower and Garden Show is the premier horticultural event in Arkansas. Gardeners and homeowners eagerly anticipate this show each spring. We expect around 12,000 visitors to attend the 2010 show which will feature several display gardens representing our “A World of Gardening” theme. In addition, the show will include over 100 garden related vendors, speakers and other educational workshops, a juried flower show, children’s educational programs, and a professional florist competition and demonstration. Proceeds from the show fund college scholarships and the "Greening of Arkansas" community beautification grant program.
